Day 21: Friday, August 15, 1998. Day hike to Twin and Silver King Lakes, Collegiate Peaks Wilderness, CO.

We spent our last full day in the wilderness taking a hike up to Twin Lakes and Silver King lake.  There was no clear trail, so we ended up scrambling up the grassy and steep hillside.  We stopped at the first of the two twin lakes to eat, and then Holly, Becky and I hiked up to Silver King.  Unfortunately, our excellent luck with the weather began to run out as the dark clouds over Missouri Mountain and Mt. Harvard combined to produce a hailstorm.  The hail stayed small and we quickly hiked back down where we met Lynne and went back to camp.
