Day 20: Thursday, August 13, 1998. Ascend Mt. Belford, Collegiate Peaks Wilderness, CO.

This was it.  This was the day we had all been waiting for.  There were four 4 fourteeners to choose from, and we chose to climb the 14,197 foot Mt. Belford.   That's high enough to make it the 19th highest peak in Colorado, yet the climb was manageable enough that we felt comfortable making the ascent without Rick.  We started rather early in the morning and made our way up to Elkhead Pass and then up Belford.   The weather stayed clear and we spent about an hour at the summit, enjoying the clear view and the meeting some of the other people who summited that day.
