Day 19: Wednesday, August 12, 1998. Continue hike into Missouri Basin, Collegiate Peaks Wilderness, CO.

Unfortunately for Rick and our group, his illness had not gotten any better and we went on without him.  His plan to rest and catch up with us later did not work out, and he was forced to go back to the van and head to the hospital in Buena Vista.  Meanwhile, we reached our campsite and enjoyed spending time on top of a large rock we called Mt. Nebraska in honor of Joe Book.  Pine Creek was several hundred feet from the campsite and we took our time to enjoy the view and the surrounding 14,000 foot peaks.
