Day 16: Sunday, August 9, 1998. Drive from Rangely, CO to Aspen, CO and to Bogan Flats Campground, CO.
We got to see quite a variety of sights this day. We started in the small, quiet town of Rangely and next went to the busy, glamorous mountain resort of Aspen. Aspen is very unique and quite comfortable to just walk around. Following a good time and some good food in Aspen, we made our way to our reserved campsites at Bogan Flats. Everything about Bogan Flats was quite nice except for the water. It reeked of sulfur. Rick told us to fill our bottles and then just let them sit for a half-hour. Then I think he said an hour. Then a couple hours. By the time our water had set out overnight, the stench was still great enough to nearly make you sick. But like I said, other than the water the place was okay.
