Day 10: Monday, August 3, 1998. Ascend Eagle Cap, Eagle Cap Wilderness,
OR.

All thirteen of us started early in the day to climb Eagle Cap. The sky was
very clear and the direct sun was quite warm, but we felt the air cool as we
climbed higher. The switchbacks of the trail were very gradual and made the hike
to Horton Pass much more manageable. We stopped for quite a while at Horton Pass
and snacked, took pictures, and threw snowballs. From there we scrambled up the
ridgeline and made it to the summit of Eagle Cap.
