Mountain Beta

"Beta" is a term climbers use to describe possible climbing routes.  Our main targets are the "fourteeners" of Colorado - those mountainous peaks that rise over 14,000 feet above sea level.  In the coming months we'll be scouting out the approaches and climbs of the peaks we're most likely to climb, and any details will be posted here.

Summits could include Mt. Elbert (Colorado's highest peak), Mt. Massive (Colorado's 2nd highest peak), Mts. Lincoln, Bross, and Democrat (all climbable in the same day), Torreys and Grays (climbable in same day), Mt. of the Holy Cross, Mt. Sherman, Quandary Peak, and others.  Some days we might try climbing in the evening and we also may try climbing a 14'er during the early morning to watch a sunrise from the summit.

For additional information about Colorado's 14ers on the web, I suggest the following web sites:

www.mountainweb.com  This site has some decent route information on many of Colorado's fourteeners.

www.thedavisatdallas.com/14ers  This site is dedicated to Andrew Hamilton's speed climbing record of the fourteeners.  Want to know how (and maybe how not) to climb 54 mountains in under 14 days?  Read his story!

I'll post more as I find them!
